I’m a four year old boy. That’s a long time to wander the streets and hope you get some food every day and if someone is kind to you then that’s a real treat! When I was first picked up, I was so scared because I didn’t know what was happening. First I got more food and all the people in the place called Turkey were so nice to me. I met lots of other goldens and we got baths and we each got our own house and then we rode in a truck and then in an airplane. When we got here more nice people were all excited to see us and they clapped and kissed us and even though it was kind of confusing it was a lot of fun! Could it get any better? I didn’t think so until I met my new family to be. They have been very sad-I could tell that right away. My new sister sat on the floor with me and I tried to get in her lap. All I could do was to put my paw on her shoulder and she knew I was saying that everything would be alright. She told me they had to tell her brother good-bye because it was time for him to be an angel and then their golden girl missed him so much she thought she’d better go and find him and keep him company. Now I have to take care of my new family and I am going to do my best. They need me and I need them. Thank you to all the kind people I’ve met and especially my sponsor who is a friend of Lisa Sullivan’s and sponsored me in honor of her friendship. From your grateful friend, Firecracker
