This is Flower, the sweetest 8 week old purebred female golden retreiver puppy you will ever meet. Her family had just gotten her and something terrible happened… her left eye got punctured with something. We don’t know what or how it happened. They took her to the shelter and said they couldn’t afford to give her the medical attention she needed. She went to the doggy ER and then to the doggy opthamologist. She had to have two eye operations which our wonderful volunteers helped raise money to pay for. The last operation was a cornea patch using tissue from a Great Dane. Yes, Flower is now part Great Dane. Her wonderful foster family fell madly in love with her and couldn’t part with her. Today, along with Mom and Dad, she has three kids to raise and two doggy brothers: Murphey and Beck. Flower’s new name is Olivia and yes, she eats like a little pig. Her eye is still healing and her eye vet says there is a good chance she will not have any vision impairment. Everyone is crossing our fingers but her wonderful family says Olivia is just a love whether she sees with one eye or two.
