We want you to meet Flower – she was an amazing one year old purebred Great Pyrenees who we got from a shelter 24 hours ago. She was picked up as a stray running with a black lab. People came to pick up the black lab but said Flower wasn’t theirs. Within hours of getting Flower, she started going downhill. Her heart didn’t sound right. She was getting weak. She was taken to the emergency vet where test after test was given to her. She had fluid in her lungs and fluid around her heart. Her doctors beleive she was either born with a heart defect or a virus attack the heart — either case was worsened by the fact she had been starved…. she was emaciated. Meds could have lengthen her life to maybe 4-6 months but the quality of that life would have been terrible. We let her go across the bridge today. We made sure she had a beautiful name and we don’t want her forgotten. The lucky ones were the ones who got to meet her. We can only hope she is smelling all the flowers and chasing butterflies and bumble bees now. We don’t know why the good, young ones are here for such a short time. It isn’t fair and we are very sad.
