Life, thus far, hasn’t been very good to Gilligan. This handsome boy was found as a stray near UGA and is approximately 5 years of age. When Gilligan was picked up, he was traveling with a female companion, Ginger. At the shelter where he was taken, Gilligan was accidentally left in the intake area while Ginger was moved to the adoption floor and pulled by a small rescue. After several weeks, shelter personnel realized Gilligan was in the wrong place but, by then, his allotted time had passed and he was slated for immediate destruction. Thank goodness the same small rescue who had saved Ginger notified AGA and we took both dogs. Ginger was found to be in relatively good health and adopted immediately but sweet Gilligan was seriously underweight and had heartworms. However, thanks to the wonderful Phoenix (you know who you are!) we were able to treat Gilligan’s heartworms. As Gilligan’s heart healed, we realized his spirit was also in need of treatment. Then some very special dogs, Annie and Gifford, asked their mom and dad to help a fellow canine in need, we were able to raise the money ($300) to send Gilligan to Jennifer at Canine Assistants for some serious “trust therapyâ€. Thanks guys! Jennifer reported that Gilligan captured the heart of everyone at Canine Assistants – especially her own! He is gentle and affectionate with other animals of all species. He learned to trust that there are people who won’t hurt him. Now he is living the good golden life with his very own good, trustworthy people! Yes, Gill has been adopted and his new mom and dad are really special! They are reaping the rewards too – Gill reminds them everyday how much he loves them and how special there are! Mom is a nurse so Gill will get lots of TLC! Dad works from home so Gill will have lots of love from him too! Gill also has a new human brother – he’s in college, so he’s going to make sure Gill is really smart! Gill also has a new feline sibling as well – Smokey! Smokey is going to make sure Gill has now problem settling in and of course, make sure Gill does everything right! Gilligan’s new life is going to finally be perfect!
