My name is Goldie, and I’m a 7-year-old golden boy weighing about 74 pounds. I may be a little underweight right now, but I have a heart full of love to give.

I came to AGA after my family experienced a loss and could no longer care for me. I was surrendered to the shelter alongside Luna, Ellie Pup, and some other pups — but AGA was there waiting to rescue us and give us our second chance.

I’m a pretty calm boy who loves being close to my people and getting lots of pets. I walk nicely on leash, and I am good around other dogs. I’m also a very good sport — I happily let my foster give me a bath and work through my mats!

I’m still learning about being a house dog and am mostly house-trained. I also have a few silly habits I’m working on, especially when I am stressed or excited. I also love to counter surf and sometimes steal clothes, blankets, or pillows – but I’m always happy to give them back.

I would do best with someone home most of the day with me, a fenced yard, and no small kids due to my quirky habits.

Unfortunately, I tested heartworm positive, so I have some medical treatment ahead of me. AGA is committed to getting me healthy, and I owe a huge thank you to my sponsors listed at the end of my bio for helping me raise the $1,000 for my treatment!

Because of my heartworm treatment, my forever family will need to live within 45 minutes of one of AGA’s vets in Alpharetta or Buckhead and have minimal steps. Once I’m medically clear, I’ll be ready to become someone’s forever boy officially.

After everything I’ve been through, I’m hoping my next chapter is the one that lasts forever. All I need is someone who will give me a little patience, a lot of love, and a place to finally call home. With grateful tail wags, Goldie

UPDATE: Thank you to Anonymous donors, Kathleen, Jennifer, and Caitlin (my amazing foster momma) for sponsoring a donating in Category A. And a HUGE thank you to The O’Neill’s for donating in Category C and closing out my treatment fundraising goal!
