My name is Gretta, and I’m a 7.5-year-old golden girl learning what life as a beloved family dog is all about.
I recently retired from life as a breeder dog, and while everything is still pretty new to me, my foster says I’m a very sweet girl with a gentle heart. I’m adjusting well, but I can still get a little anxious sometimes, especially with sudden movements or unfamiliar situations. I’ll need a patient, understanding family who will let me settle in at my own pace.
One thing that really helps me feel safe is having other animals around. I’m good with other dogs and would do best with a calm, confident dog companion in my forever home. I’m also good with cats! I had one brief moment of wanting to keep a tasty treat to myself, but overall I’m learning how to share and relax.
I’m already house-trained and have done well with free roam of the home. My foster thinks I would feel most comfortable in a home with a secure fenced yard, where I can safely explore and build confidence.
