Holden and Houston were owned by a man who refused to keep them from roaming. Without a fence, these two, roamed the countryside and were constantly being picked up by animal control. Finally, he took them to the shelter and said, they have never had collars on and he would prefer them to be dead than be behind a fence. He left them to die. We got a call about Houston and saw how Houston was so worried about this old guy. Holden is about 10. We heard his real name is Blackie. We know he isn’t a golden but we just couldn’t leave him. So, we took Holden in hopes of finding him a family that he could love. First, we found him a wonderful foster who had recently lost her rottie — and Holden reminded her of him. She soon fell in love and soon, Holden had a home. We know he will never roam again – he is in love for the first time in his life!
