Huckleberry is a small red male golden mix who is around 6 years of age. He was at the shelter and on his last day to live, they called us in hopes we would take a mix. And although, we have way too many dogs looking for their forever homes, we just couldn’t let this little guy who looks like a teddy bear die. He was so scared – he just curled into a ball and shook. Now, after a stay with us and a little help from his angel Mary Jean Nelson (who helped him get rid of his heartworms), Huck is happy and healthy! He has also found his new home with a great new family! They were looking to adopt 2 dogs, had experience with older dogs and had no hesitations about taking a special needs dog (so Huck being deaf did not scare them away). Dad is an attorney and mom works from home. They are a great family and the love and compassion they have for older, medically challenged dogs is tremendous. Huck will be well taken care of and living large in his new house (that has an elevator) with his new mom, dad, 90 year old grandmother and new Australian Shepherd brother.
