Hudson is a big (96 pounds), goofy, handsome 3 year old purebred male golden. Hudson’s former family grew and mom was overwhelmed. Hudson needed a family who could give him more, so we delivered! He was adopted by a great couple who volunteers with us in Pennsylvania. They flew down and drove this boy back. They gave him a great life but Hudson turned out to be too much for them right at this time of their lives. They recently lost their 16 year old dog, and their older golden was expected to pass from cancer but fortunately only had to lose a leg. So with 3 other dogs and a baby arriving in a few months, Hudson just wasn’t getting enough attention. He is a dog that needs his exercise and needs to be loved on every minute. So, we started looking for applicants in the Northeast and lo and behold, a couple who used to live here now lives in Massachusetts and took a drive to Pennsylvania to meet Hudson. The result of the trip? Love at first sight. So just a few weeks later Hudson made the move to Massachusetts. Now he has a great new mom and dad who are southern transplants too. He has a great house with a huge back yard and a river just behind his house. Mom and dad are savvy golden owners who previously lost two goldens to cancer within just a few months of each other. They were finally ready to open their hearts again and Hudson became the lucky boy. For now he’ll be an only child so he’ll get lots and lots of love and attention. However, we’re sure that before long he is going to be ready for a brother or sister in which to share his great new home. Sounds like this love story will have a sequel. Now if Hudson can just learn to bark like a Boston dog – uff, uff, uff!
