This is Huntley – a magnificent 21 month old purebred male Great Pyrenees. Huntley thought he had found his forever home but his owners did not understand how to care for a Great Pyrenees. He was put on a double shock collar to keep him in the yard. That burned his neck. Then he was left out in the backyard by himself and guess what? He started barking and the neighbors complained. He simply needed to find a real forever home that would understand his needs. And with our help Huntley has done just that. He is now a mountain dog. Yes, Huntley’s new family drove 6 hours from the mountains in North Carolina to pick up this big love. In fact, it was their first meeting and they were so convinced they showed up with a collar for him boasting his new last name. He has a beautiful house and two cats (he likes cats) and parents who will spend every minute with him. They live in a cul de sac with lots of neighbor dogs who will soon be Huntley’s new play friends. They have a great fenced yard but Huntley will never be left out in the yard alone and he will never have an electric collar on again either.
And when they picked him up, Huntley made himself right at home in the backseat for the 6 hour car ride. He was so excited about his new family he just wanted to stay close!
