Say Hi to Jake. He is a 5 year old purebred male golden whose owners couldn’t give Jake any attention. Jake is a wonderful dog but he has been alone alot. The owners report he was outside in the backyard by himself most days and in a crate at night in the house. They also reported that some neighborhood kids would poke him with sticks. Jake doesn’t like cats. Jake needs some TLC — someone who will socialize him and let him know how wonderful being a golden retriever can be! He needs a best friend. Jake will go into fostercare so that he can tell us if he likes kids, dogs, treats, toys and so on. Stay tuned. END OF STORY: WHILE AT THE VET JAKE, FOR NO APPARENT REASON, ATTACKED AND INJURED A KENNEL WORKER WHEN SHE LET HIM OUT OF HIS CRATE. UNDER THE LAW, JAKE HAD TO BE PUT DOWN. WE ARE SHARING THIS INFORMATION WITH YOU BECAUSE EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW THAT ISOLATION, ABUSE, AND OUT RIGHT CRUELTY CAN DAMAGE EVEN A DOCILE GOLDEN RETRIEVER. HOW ANYONE CAN KNOW THAT KIDS WERE POKING HIM WITH STICKS AND SIMPLY ACT LIKE IT WAS A MATTER OF FACT OCCURENCE IS BEYOND OUR COMPREHENSION. JAKE ENDED UP NOT TRUSTING ANYONE. JAKE WAS BORN A LOVING GOLDEN RETRIEVER AND PEOPLE DID THIS TO HIM. WE ONLY HOPE HE WILL BE IN A BETTER PLACE WHERE THERE IS NO PAIN AND CRUELTY.
