This is JoJo, a 3 year old purebred female Golden Retriever. She was orginally advertised on Craig’s list and the former owners adopted her because it appeared she was not in a very good living situation. When they went to pick JoJo up they were stunned to see how she was living. Her first former owner moved recently and had been keeping her outside in a 6 X 8 dog kennel on concrete 24/7 (no bed, no toys and it was also her elimination area). She was also very skinny, hungry and attention deprived. They brought her home due to the conditions she was living in. She was wild when they got her but who could blame her living like that? She calmed down considerably and it seemed she found her forever home but 2 weeks later her second former owner was concerned because she chased the 3 horses they had and they were afraid she would get trampled. Back in September they contacted us to surrender her and we suggested giving her more time to acclimate to farm living and provide a fence between JoJo and the horses. They wrote back and said they followed the advice and had grown to love JoJo so much they could not let her go! Fast forward to now – her new owners are getting a divorce and JoJo needed a new home again! Well, now that Jo Jo has overcome her hurdles in life, she is finally crossing the finish line and receiving her reward. She has been adopted by a wonderful (and deserving) family. Mom stays at home, so Jo Jo will be spoiled – as all dogs should. She will be the only pet, so the whole family will get to spoil her. She’ll also have 2 young kids to help mom raise. Now the only worry Jo Jo will have is deciding where she’ll sleep each night and that might be a tough decision!
