Lacy is a female golden retriever and is reported to be 5 years old. She is very shy out of the kennel but in the kennel she has a good voice, wags her tail and licks fingers through the wire. She and another dog (not a golden retriever) were brought to a shelter by a man who had them in the back of a pickup truck and just said he couldn’t keep them anymore. As you can see in this photo, Lacy is scared. Lacy was most likely used as a breeder dog before being rescued by AGA. Everything…every room, noise, sound…is new for her. The great thing is she’s never shown anything but sweetness in all she’s been through. Lacy doesn’t know how to play with toys, but she does occasionally pick up a slipper to take back to her favorite spot. She doesn’t chew on the slipper, she just retrieves it and lies with it like a security blanket. For this sweet gentle spirit we needed to find a gentle, patient, quiet home, where she would will be able to continue to come out of her shell at her own pace. Well, with little help from the big “furry” guy in the sky, things always work out. Now Lacy is living the spoils of family life all thanks to her ever caring foster and her new mom and dad. At her foster home, Lacy began venturing out of her crate and she became an absolute lover girl! Then when she met mom and dad she was absolutely PERFECT family for them! She warmed up to them immediately and it was evident that Lacy felt secure and loved in their presence, and why not … both of them are veterinarians!! She also immediately got along with the family’s 12 year old Rottie, Joey, and several cats. They all greeted each other like old friends. Now Lacy is giving kisses and feels safe in her new home filled with lots of TLC!
