I was living in a shelter in a land called Turkey not too long ago. I had just heard I was going to be sent to live in the forest because there were too many dogs in the shelter. I thought- “Oh, NO!” The forest can be very dangerous and I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life fighting off mean dogs. I already knew what that was like because I still have marks on my face from when they bit me. I’m just no good at fighting! One day a volunteer had a meeting with us and said, “Who wants to go to America?”. I held up my paws right away and said “Me!”, “Me!” Lots of dogs wanted to come but we had to take turns and so finally I was getting in a crate and getting on a plane. And so here I am all settled in my new family. I have a mom and dad and two bigger kids and a brother dog. I even have something called “pool”. They didn’t have one at the shelter but my family says I will love it! Once there was another golden who lived here but he was needed to join the angel dogs. I’m pretty sure angel dogs help the orphan dogs to find their way to homes to take care of the families they leave behind. It’s a very important job and I’m proud I was chosen!
