Lucy is a 3 year female golden retriever. She was in a golden rescue in Alabama and she was adopted to a family in Massachusetts who had small children. She snapped at the kids after it was determined that they abused her by jumping on her and also teased her with food. She went to a trainer for a few months until the trainer was convinced the family would never discipline the children. The golden rescue in Alabama finally turned to us and asked if we could help poor Lucy and find her a home back down here in the south. Of course we said yes and a transport was arranged to get her to Atlanta. One of our volunteers who had one of the transport legs, fell in love with Lucy! We learned that Lucy was gentle, loving and simply needed to build a relationship with someone special. Well, Lucy found her someone special along her journey from Alabama. Her transporter had to keep Lucy overnight until she could get into the vet’s office and Lucy got right to work with making this new person realize she was in love. Now Lucy is home – she’ll
be an only dog and surely spoiled rotten in her new home. Congrats, Lucy! Here’s to your new beginning — living the golden life!
