Meet Max & Maddie – a pair of 5 year old golden retrievers who are best pals. They have lived together all of their lives. They are from Alabama and their owners just took them to the shelter and left them – knowing there was a high probability these guys would be separated or worse, put down. You see, they are the victims of “a baby is on the way” which we hear all too often. Max and Maddie WERE THEIR FIRST BABIES but are now discarded because of a ‘real baby’. How very sad and this is why we ask our young childless couples who want to adopt one of our dogs, what will happen when a baby comes along. Adoption is not a temporary thing, for us it’s for life. We have to keep Max and Maddie together and thanks to their new mom and dad we are able to make sure these two live out their lives together. In their new home, Max and Maddie will be only children, which was especially important to Maddie as she interviewed her potential forever families. Now these good dogs will continue all of their tricks for mom and dad – they love to play ball, love toys and especially love taking them all out of their toy boxes and putting each toy in their respective beds. Maddie loves to sit on Max’s head and Max lets her – silly dogs. Now Maddie, Max, mom and dad have all made one another’s Christmas wishes come true – each other for company!
