This is Marmaduke. He is a 2 year old purebred male golden who was on death row and was hours from leaving this world — which would have been horrible. Marmaduke is one of the coolest dogs you will ever meet. But Marmaduke was in pretty bad shape. He was malnourished (being at least 15-20 pounds underweight), had numerous intestinal parasites, needed neutering, had heartworms and had mange. He spent a long, long time in the doggy hospital and then we found a wonderful family to foster him. We knew from the get go that Marmaduke had a plan. We think it took less than a day to have foster Dad hooked and then when foster Mom got home from work, it was pretty much over. Marmaduke only had to win the kids over and he had it made in the shade. Well, that took only a few minutes and he was soon being called RUSTY by all. Today, he is healthy and happy and safe. The best time is when he has his head on Dad and Mom’s laps and just looks at them with those eyes and says “I love you and I will always be grateful to you.”
