Meet Maverick and Rosebud! They are two beautiful golden retrievers; one male and one female around 1 year old. They are brother and sister who were taken in by a kind family in Alabama from an older lady who was living alone and had become unable to care for them. She was going to take them to the animal shelter which was not an option for this golden loving family. They in fact have two golden retrievers who they love dearly so they wanted to find a wonderful loving home for Maverick and Rosebud. They starting looking for a rescue group and found us through Canine Assistants. Of course, we eagerly stepped in to help and after some time with us and learning their behaviors we found the perfect home for them just in time for Christmas. Rosebud is a funny, very active girl who is always in a hurry. She inhales food without chewing or swallowing, when she gets off the leash she runs and runs and runs WITHOUT looking for cars and she is a mastermind at releasing herself from the kennel. Maverick is a little more simple. He loves his sister and every opportunity to play, he also LOVES fetching everything shoes, blankets, and whatever suits him at the time. These two are perfect together and with their individual personalities they fully balance each other out. Then in came their new mom and dad. They had two dogs before and were used to having a pair of dogs, so it kind of just fit.
Even with the resident cat “Bruiser”. Yes Bruiser can handle his own and upon meeting his new canine companions he let them know exactly how things were going to be at home. Both goldens agreed and now everyone is happy. Now Mav and Rosebud are busy in their new yard and getting lots of love from mom, dad and hopefully soon enough from Bruiser too.
