Max’s story is a sad one. He is about 8 years old but looks much lot older. Max was brought to us by his owners who clearly had never given him any of the love and attention he deserved. Max had sad eyes and was covered with flees. We promised him a brighter future but quickly learned Max was a very sick boy. The vet found one problem after another but we all hoped for the best. Unfortunately after only 4 days at the vet’s office the heartworms got the best of Max. There was nothing left we could do. Fortunately, thanks to our volunteers and everyone at the vet’s office, Max was able to cross Rainbow Bridge in peace, and finally surrounded by love.
