My name is Meadow, and I’m a 2-year-old golden girl who weighs about 64 pounds. I have a gentle heart that’s just beginning to bloom.
I was found running as a stray alongside another Golden Retriever. Sadly, my friend ran off before Animal Control could bring us both to safety, but I was lucky enough to receive a second chance when AGA came for me. I still hope they’re out there getting the same second chance I received.
When AGA first met me, I was scared and unsure of everything around me. I wasn’t ready to trust just yet, but they saw past my fear and knew I deserved a fresh start. They gave me a beautiful new name… Meadow… because they believed peaceful, happy days were ahead.
I’m a total velcro girl who loves being close to my people and will happily follow you everywhere. I’m fully house-trained, wonderful on a leash, ride great in the car, and love my dog beds so much that I’ll find one in every room! I am not high-energy and love giving my paw when I want some attention.
I can be easily startled by loud noises, so I’m looking for a quiet, calm home with a patient and understanding family. I warm up quickly when given time to feel comfortable. I also really enjoy having another dog around and would prefer a home with a confident, calm canine sibling who can show me the ropes. A loud or super hyper dog wouldn’t be the best fit for me.
I’d love someone who is home most of the time, as I really enjoy companionship and would be lonely if left alone all day. Calm, patient children who understand my needs could also be a good fit.
I may be a little shy at first, but once I know I’m safe, you’ll see what a sweet, loving girl I truly am. With hopeful tail wags, Meadow
