I came all the way from a place called Michigan. I am an 8 year old golden boy and when I heard I was heading south I thought- “Oh, boy, sunshine and warm weather!” I think someone played a trick on me- it’s cold here too! I used to be in a home but I came here looking for a new place with no other dogs. OK, call me “quirky” but who isn’t, huh? I find I just prefer to be the only dog in residence- to be the head dog – the dog with no other dogs. I am ok when I meet another dog – I just don’t want them to live in my house. I am more a people dog and I have great house manners, am healthy and live to make you happy. I want to be the center of the world! I am healthy and love to go on walks and love, love, love car rides. I am the kind of golden who loves to be petted and I will nudge you for more pets or just paw you. I know all of my commands. I have a few things I don’t like to have done to me — but once people understand then there is no problem. You can tell me what you don’t like too. Everyone has those things that make them kind of grumpy you know. I never meant to be difficult but I am what I am and still AGA made a miracle for me. Now I have a new home and a mom and a dad all to myself. They are experts on goldens like me and I am so relieved. I get to sleep with my mom when dad is out of town and they take me for car rides whenever they can (which is my most favorite thing to do). Now if I can only get the hang of making “snow angels” without snow. This pine straw stuff isn”t quite the same! Maybe I’d better wait till summer and look into the sport of chasing butterflies.
