Meet Mick, a very handsome blonde almost 3 year old purebred boy. Mick came from Alabama where his owner recently had twins and became overwhelmed and couldn’t cope. She had no time for Mick and Mick would get out of the fence every day. He always came home. A neighbor told them about rescue and the nice rescue people in Alabama drove him over to us. He just got checked out at the vet and in spite of everything, Mick is very healthy. He doesn’t have the best of hips (but you wouldn’t know that by watching him walk, run or play) but don’t look at Mick to be a running partner. The best thing for Mick would be a home with a pool or a lake home. Building up his hip muscles will help him avoid surgery in his later life. He is very friendly and knows basic commands. He is great around other dogs and would prefer a dog sibling he can play with. He is housetrained and is good with cats and all people big and small. He has a wonderful temperment but will do best in a calm house where he can take leisurely strolls, a swim, wrestle with his dog friend and then curl up and be a lap dog. Well, Mick just got everything he ever wanted. He has a new mom and dad, his very own home, and his very own lake right in the backyard. Dad is very dog savvy, having previously owned several big dogs. He will having Mick fetching balls the lake in no time. Swimming will definitely help Mick build strength in his hips. And what could be better than a golden fetching balls from the lake? Two goldens fetching balls from the lake! Once Mick settles in mom and dad hope to add a little golden brother or sister to the family. Sounds like Mick is going to have a ball of fun!
