Nanook is a 7 month old purebred male pup who was brought to the vet to be put to sleep because he had been hit by a car. The vet techs went out to the car to get him expecting to find a dying dog — what they found in the back of the man’s SUV was a beautiful, blonde boy wagging his tail and giving them sweet kisses. The man signed over Nanook to the vet and little did Nanook know that getting hit by a car may be the best thing that ever happened to him. Nanook had been clearly neglected as the entire top of his body was covered in scabs where had been eaten alive by fleas and he had a broken hip. We needed to find this sweet guy a home suited just for him where he would never know the harsh word “neglect” again! Mission completed. Nanook, now Gibson, is home. His new parents just couldn’t wait to come down from Knoxville to pick him up. They are previous AGA adopters, who are very golden savvy. They waited patiently for Nanook while he was in foster care healing from his double FHO surgery. Now Gibson for Bob Gibson, the famous St. Louis baseball pitcher, is living his own fairy tale. Thankfully, he also loves to play ball! Mom and dad are perfect for him and he has two doggy siblings, Molly, a rescued golden, and Hogan, a little terrier/corgi mix. Even better, both of Gibson’s grandparents have pools so he will be learning to swim asap because that is the best exercise for his hips to build muscle. While he is technically mom and dad’s new dog – he is most definitely going to be grandpa’s new pal! Here’s to you Gibson…
