UPDATE: Overnight Newman’s lymph nodes swelled and the biopsy came back yesterday that he has juvenile onset lymphoma. His lung xrays are not normal and his liver enzymes are elevated which is most likely due to cancer involvement, so the prognosis is very grim, probably around 2 weeks. He is receiving meds to keep him comfortable. A vet tech who has been caring for him and has fallen in love with him is taking him home to foster. BACKGROUND: That’s right- as in “PAUL”! No blue eyes here but I must admit I am short like Paul was (if you can see in the photo, I have very short legs that make me very cute). I am sure to be a star like Paul. I may be a golden corgi mix or a golden bassett mix. Either way, you will fall in love with me. I am only about 2, around 50 lbs. and even though not 100% golden, I am definitely a real keeper. I rode here from a shelter where I was very popular – everyone wanted my autograph! I just found out that I have heartworms which is NOT a good thing. I needde some fans of mine to send me $500 (since I am temporarily out of work) to pay for the shots I have to have – (shudder) just the thought of shots! But it’s going to be worth it to be healthy again – after all I am young and need to look forward to a long life ahead of me. Guess what? I have a family of fans who sent me the money….the Walker Family. They are very nice and they have kids and dogs and picked me special. I love them. I hope to meet them someday. I will give them my paw autograph for sure. You will find I am the best kind of friend you could ever want if you take me home. Thanks for reading about me and I can’t wait to meet you! Your friend, Newman
