My name is Oliver, and I’m a 4-year-old, 79-pound golden boy with a big heart and so much love to give!
I joined the AGA family after my family realized I wasn’t getting the time and attention I deserved. I’ve been with them since I was a tiny 8-week-old puppy, but with three children and a busy household, I was too much. During the day, I spent about eight hours in a large bathroom with the door closed while everyone was gone, and I slept there again overnight. Now, I’m hoping to find a family who can give me the fresh start I deserve!
I absolutely love people, and I’m a fully house-trained boy! I enjoy getting out for many walks a day and am a strong guy who does well on a leash. I’m also great in the car, and I’m happy staying home alone for a few hours without a crate. So, my forever family doesn’t need to be home with me all day. I’m a little independent, but I like being near my people.
I have a playful side, too! Tennis balls are some of my favorite things, and I love playing fetch in the backyard. I’ve met the neighborhood dogs and have done well, showing interest in playing with them. I don’t need another dog in my forever home, but if I have a canine sibling, a confident companion would be the best fit. I’m also good with cats.
I’m still learning how to navigate life and build trust. Sometimes, I just like to sit with my toys and ask you not to take them. I would do best with an experienced, patient family with no small kids who understands my body language, respects my boundaries, and can help me learn positive ways to feel comfortable.
I’ve spent much of my life with limited space and time with my people, and now I’m ready for a home where I can enjoy walks, backyard fetch, belly rubs, and simply being part of the family. With love and golden tail wags, Oliver
