Remember Cinderella? She had to sit, all alone, in the cinders by the fireplace- which is why they called her Cinderella. Well I used to be called Ashes but I think it was really Ashes-erella. I stayed outside in the yard, all day and all night every day no matter what the weather. No ashes but I was alone, alone, alone. So, guess what I did? I did everything I could think of to get out of that fence. I didn’t go far but I had to find someone to be with, to listen to, to keep me company. I was desperate! I had been in that home all of my life-since I was a puppy- and now I am 7 years old. One day someone said they were “allergic” to me and that began my life outside. But just like my friend Cinderella, there was a fairy Goddog looking out for me and she sent me to AGA. I had to spend some time at the dog doctor getting caught up on my shots and etc. but then I moved on to a foster home while looking for a new family. I was a smart girl, got along with all people and kids and other dogs. I was healthy and one of the smaller Goldens (only 55 lbs) so I didn’t take up much room. I met my new family at adoption day. They always had dogs but currently had only a 18 year old cat and were looking for the warmth and companionship of a great dog like me. After our first meeting my foster mom took me to my new home to complete the adoption. I now have a stay at home dad, a mom that will soon be retired and lots of visiting grandkids. I’m now live inside where I belong and showered with lots of love and companionship like I deserve. Love Patches!
