Peanut (girl) and Butter (boy) are 2 purebred golden retriever siblings that came to us together. They are around 2 years old. And,what a story these two have to tell!! Butter boy and Peanut girl had a tough couple of months. A few months back, a shelter in West Georgia was contacted to take the pair because their former owners could not afford them and we were immediately contacted and lined up to take them. Then unfortunately, the former owners changed their minds and promised to take care of them and did not surrender them the shelter. The next thing that happened is where it got terrible… Animal Control was called to the home because neighbors reported that Butter and Peanut were tied to a fence with no shelter, food or water. The dogs were ultimately impounded in the shelter, both in really bad shape. But, not surprisingly, both Butter and Peanut had heartworms and needed sponsors to pay for their treatment ($500 per dog). A wonderful supporter stepped forward and sponsored both Peanut and Butter in memory of her dog Milly who brought her so much joy. Milly would have wanted to help this pair so others they can share their love like Milly did. Thanks Milly for being a wonderful companion for all these years. These two are now healthy, spayed and neutered, extremely bonded with each other and home! Yes, that’s right – they are home. And this time home is a real home, one full of love, dedication, puppy spoils and family. They home a new mom, dad and 2 human sisters (who are thrilled to each have a dog). These two will be spoiled rotten and finally enjoy living the golden life together! Dad works from home so they will have constant company. Now they are just biding their time until they are off heartworm restrictions and can play ball!
