Pogo is a little 10 week old male golden puppy we got from a breeder in Missouri. It seems all of Pogo’s litter mates were sold to a puppy broker but the broker didn’t want Pogo because he was so small. The breeder gave him to one of our volunteers at an auction. Pogo had a bit of a cough when we brought him in but he was still a real pistol. He loved playing with his two big golden foster brothers and was afraid of nothing. Pogo had been a wonderfully energetic, typical golden pup until one afternoon when his foster mom noticed Pogo acting different. He was having difficulty breathing and would not wake up. Immediately she rushed him to the vet. It’s a good thing she acted quickly because had she not Pogo would have likely died in her arms. The vet said Pogo was suffering from a very bad case of pneumonia and he was truly minutes away from death. But thanks to his foster mom, and all the great people at Buckhead Animal Clinic, Pogo survived. He was nursed back to health and within a few days Pogo was back to his old self. Pogo really stole the hearts of everyone he met and it didn’t take long for him to find himself a forever home fit of a king. Pogo managed to work his charms on a woman who wasn’t even looking to adopt a dog, but when she met Pogo she knew she had to have him forever. The next day Pogo was given a new name, Max, and the promise of a wonderful forever. Now Max has an adoring mom, a dad who works from home and grandchildren to play with. He has an 8 year old cat, a big back yard, and his very own spot in the bedroom. His forever mom says Max is already chasing balls and collecting socks all over the house and he’s growing bigger and stronger each day. It’s only going to get better from here and we can’t wait for updates!
