Prince is a magnificent 6 year old male golden who sure has had some bad luck recently. Prince is a California native and his family moved to South Carolina and flew Prince to his new home. They moved into a fancy golf club community where fences were not allowed and put in an invisible fence. Prince was doing fine until one of the kids put a leash on him to walk and pulled him near the invisible fence line. Prince started yelling and rather than pulling Prince away from the electric current that was shocking him, the kid tried to remove the electric collar from Prince as Prince was getting shocked! Prince nipped the kid but did not break skin. Then the family did something that is truly unbelievable. They took Prince to the shelter and said they hoped he wouldn’t be put down and when the shelter worker said she couldn’t promise that… they left him anyway. Thank goodness one of our volunteers found him and rescued this great dog. Prince is good with children but not great with invisible fences so we found him a forever home with a nice regular sturdy fence and a mom and dad who would never leave him behind. Prince’s new forever family is just great. Mom and dad love dogs, and since their children are all grown their dogs are their babies. Prince now has a 10 year old Maltese brother Cosmo and a 2.5 year old grand-golden (he belongs to mom and dad’s grown son) Dooley. Dooley comes over for lots of play dates with Cosmo and they’re good pals but Dooley is so happy to now have another golden to run around with. Prince traveled a long way from California to finally find his true forever home here in Georgia. But Prince tells us he’s always known he was a Georgia golden peach at heart so we’re happy we could help him home.
