This is Rawhide – a precious 2 year old purebred male golden retriever. He was an owner surrender to the shelter in Birmingham. His previous owners were horrible – he was nearly starved to death with such a bad case of internal parasites that his body wasn’t getting any nutrition. He also had heartworms, but thanks to his golden buddy Webster (and Webster’s new parents), he is much better. Now, he is happy too. This guy has finally found a family to call his own. Mom and dad are terrific and are dedicated to helping Rawhide work through his separation anxiety – in fact, they are hoping that Rawhide will continue his path of becoming a therapy dog. Mom and dad’s previous dog was a therapy dog and they know exactly how to train Rawhide. Rawhide is half way there as he has a very low-key personality and is very obedient to his humans. He also will be living with a dog who is not a golden but a rescue dog with a personality exactly the opposite of Rawhide’s and he will have a feline companion. Both of his new siblings plan to show Rawhide the ropes of “good” family life.
