UPDATE: Reece had a young man she grew up. He and his fiance had planned to take Reece with them when they moved in their new house next month. When visiting Mom & Dad, they were told Reece had run away. Knowing Reece wouldn’t do that, they went home and started looking for her on the internet hoping she was still alive. We had just posted her that very day! Reece should have “lucky” as a middle name. AGA saved this bearded collie within 18 hours of being put down. Few people realize that when they turn a dog into a full shelter, the turned in dogs are the first ones euthanized to make room for the others. Reece will be reunited with her best friend soon and we will try to get a photo of the reunion! Lesson: It’s ok to save a dog who isn’t a golden sometimes and it is good to post on petfinders and the AGA website. BACKGROUND: Well, I know I’m not your run of the mill golden retriever. OK maybe I’m not any kind of a golden retriever. I think of myself as a very unique, “purebred” Shaggy Dog”. I come in your basic black and white which is suitable for most occasions. Understated yet classy! Not many of us around so here’s your chance! I also think of myself as VERY lucky to be taken in by AGA. My other owners just dropped me off at an animal shelter and that was that. No goodbye’s, no reasons, no nothing. Well, their loss I say! I am a 6 year old girl and kind of medium at 46 pounds. I’ve checked in with the dog doctor for a little spiffing up and to make sure I didn’t catch any bugs at that shelter. The people there did say I was pretty sweet and the AGA volunteer who picked me up and drove me said I was a good car rider, sweet (there is that word again), liked other dogs in the vet’s lobby. Soon everyone will see that I am pretty perfect. Pretty, just the right size and remember, sweet. How about thinking outside of the box this time and consider getting to know me- the non-golden? Love you, Reese
