River crossed the Rainbow Bridge today. She was very sick. A sonogram revealed kidneys three times their normal size and cancer cells. She was too gentle and sweet to suffer. One of our wonderful volunteers hugged her and held her and kissed her as she went to sleep. BACKGROUND: River is a female, purebred golden who we think is between 8-10 years old. She was found wandering and was picked up by animal control. No one came to get her. She is so sweet. She is the kind of golden who rests her paw on your hand and looks at you with the kindest eyes.
