3/29/13: Today our Rocky boy went to heaven. He was weak and not eating. Thankfully, his foster mom never left his side and she hugged him until he was safe. Rocky was a special dog and we regret we couldn’t save him. He touched a lot of hearts and made big paw imprints on each of them. RIP Rocky. BACKGROUND – This is Rocky Orlando. He was owned by a loving family in Florida. Rocky had a bleeding nose and their vet couldn’t determine the cause. After consultation with AGA, we decided that we would bring Rocky into our program and get an MRI (very expensive) to determine a cause for the bleeding. The MRI revealed nothing. However, our vet discovered a polyp inside the black folds of his nose and also found a second on the side of his tongue. Both were removed and sent to the lab. Testing revealed cancer. We consider it inoperable cancer because Rocky’s tongue would have to be removed plus a large portion of his nose. The bleeding has stopped for now but could reoccur at any time. We have found a foster for Rocky who will love him for as long as he has to live. We have no idea how long he has. We do know this dog is very special. Adores children, loves dogs and is good with cats. He deserves lots of love and attention. We thank the Walkers for opening their hearts and home to Rocky. Rocky loves the children and other dogs and will have a stay at home mom who will spoil him rotten. Rocky is 7 years old. We do need to collect money for Rocky’s Fund to pay for his MRI and surgery he had. Please consider helping Rocky and AGA.
