Roy Rogers is a very sweet 1 year old male golden retriever mix. He was a stray who starting hanging out at a house at night. The people who live in that house said he would sneak up out of the woods each night in order to eat some of their dog’s food. They finally took him to animal control in North Carolina because no one was looking for a dog with mange. Yes, poor Roy Rogers has demodex mange which is totally treatable and not contagious. In fact, his hair has already started growing back! No one would take him from the shelter and he was hours away from being put down so we said YES. Roy has a wonderful personality and once in his foster home was transformed into a beautiful golden boy. He is gentle and puts his head in your lap and hides his head under your arm when he is unsure. He is one of those dogs who will thank you each and every day for saving him. You can see it in his eyes already. Lucky Roy Rogers was adopted into a wonderful family with two young boys that will give him the love he so deserves and he will show them the joys of growing up with a dog companion. Best of luck!
