Sailor is a super nice young male golden retriever. We were notified that he was at an animal shelter in Augusta and he needed to get rescued quickly because he was not bearing weight on one of his back legs. Also his tail was docked to about 8 inches in length so it was obvious he had been in some sort of accident…possibly a car accident. We got him to Atlanta to see one of our vets. Well, we had a cracked pelvis and needed ACL surgery recipient. We are glad we were able to help him and very thankful for the many donations we received in his honor. This goofy boy is a fighter and is now perfectly healthy and perfectly happy in his new home. Mom and dad are previous AGA adopters and fosters and simply couldn’t resist Sailor’s charm and wit. They had recently lost one of their goldens and their other golden, Journee, missed her partner. So determined to pull her out of her shell and find a playmate, Sailor became just what she needed. On his first visit he got out every bone and toy in the toy box trying to get Journee’s attention. When that did not work he decided a game of ear biting was in order. That solidified the choice for mom and dad when they saw Journee respond in kind and munched on Sailor’s ears right back. Another family saved by the love of a golden!
