Sandy was a 4 year old purebred female golden who found herself in danger of dying in an overcrowded shelter in North Georgia. Fortunately, some wonderful people in that shelter contacted us. You see, Sandy’s owners took her to the shelter and owner surrenders are the first to be put down. She was scheduled to die that morning but one of our volunteers jumped in her car and just wouldn’t let that happen to her. She was a sweet thing — a real cuddlebug. Unfortunately, she also got bit by a mosquito and had heartworms. Sandy needed a sponsor to pay for her medical treatment ($500)and one of our loyal volunteers stepped up to pay her bill. Thanks Jim Poole! Once done with her treatment Sandy had a lot of admirers that the foster had to choose from to meet this sweet girl. Sandy found the perfect home with a family with two little girls to watch over. What a great ending to what could have been a tragic life. Thanks AGA.
