Shadow, a 2-3 year old black flat coated retriever, literally sauntered up one of our volunteer’s houses and made herself right at home. Shadow was a wonderful girl and got along great with kids and other dogs. She’s not a golden retriever but once she walked into our lives we had to find her a home – and we did. Shadow’s new mom and dad had originally wanted a puppy, but mom is pregnant with her first child. Tending to a puppy and a newborn is a nearly impossible task and we finally convinced them to consider an older more trained dog. Once they met Shadow they new she was the girl to help raise their baby to be. Shadow can’t wait to meet the baby. In the meantime though, she’s enjoying lounging in the yard by the big oak trees and loving having a family and a home of her own.
