Shadow, a 4 year old male lab, lived a hard life before coming into our program. Shadow’s mom had to move back home with her parents and wasn’t allowed to bring her dogs. He was abused the first two years of his life. He would run away and when he came home he was beaten by a his mean owner. After seeing this happen over and over again, Shadow was finally rescued. Shadow was shy at first but as soon as he realized we were not going to hit him, he warmed up and was very sweet. He was clearly a loving companion waiting to be loved in return. Shadow needed a special friend and we found him. A very nice young man was looking for just the right dog. When he met Shadow, he knew Shadow was the right one. It didn’t take long for Shadow to realize he was the right Dad. Shadow loves riding in his new SUV and he is proud to be his Dad’s motivation to get up off that couch and go hiking and boating. Shadow can’t wait to ride in the canoe and tip it over. Swimming is good for Dad too.
