Sheba is a purebred female golden retriever who is around 10 years old. Her former owner died and family members were left in charge to take care of Sheba. Unfortunately they did not keep their promise and took Sheba to Animal Control. We were called immediately because surrenders are the first dogs put down in a crowded shelter. Sheba is a very sweet, gentle soul who was a tad bit overweight. She had heartworms but due to her age, she went through slow kill process and is simply on monthly medication. And now she knows there is someone out there who will love her and never leave her again! She was loyal to her master until the end and now, has someone be loyal to her – her perfect new dad! Dad lost his wife 3 years ago and his last golden 1 year ago. He was finally ready for another dog and with the help of his family, especially his daughter-in-law, they began their search. Dad needed a friend and companion – someone that he could talk to, give all of his attention and love to. Sheba is the lucky recipient! Now dad and Sheba will play tennis ball in her new fenced backyard, have 2 grandchildren that occasionally come to play as well as 3 other neighbor pups to play with too! Life is going to be perfectly golden!
