My name is Shelby, and I’m a 9-year-old golden mix with a sweet heart, gentle soul, and plenty of life left to live.
My world changed when my owner’s wife passed away. It was a heartbreaking time for both of us, and when he had to move to a smaller home where dogs weren’t allowed, he made the difficult decision to let AGA help me find another loving family. It wasn’t because he didn’t love me… he wanted to make sure I could have the life he knew I deserved.
Everyone says I act much younger than my age! I’m house-trained, walk nicely on a leash, and have wonderful house manners. I’m a quiet, easygoing girl who loves being with my people, but I also enjoy playing with other dogs. In fact, I have a great time playing with my foster dog sister! I’m also wonderful with kids and strangers, making friends wherever I go. The only thing I’m not a fan of is cats, so I’d prefer a cat-free home.
What I’m hoping for now is a family who will cherish this next chapter with me. I still have so much love to give, plenty of happy years ahead, and I can’t wait to fill another home with golden smiles, wagging tails, and unconditional love. With gentle tail wags, Shelby
