Silk is a female purebred golden retriever who is 4 years old and has a coat as soft as silk. She is an owner surrender and was given up due to no fault of her own. She is a lovely, sweet golden girl whose former owner has Silk’s 11 year old mother and felt she needed to spend more time with the older dog. She also has a 3 year old daughter and Silk loved to rub up against her asking for some petting but that frightened the little girl. Sadly, Silk had not been to a vet since 2008 and had heartworms. Thankfully, the Cossetts, long time supporters of AGA, came forward to pay for her heartworm treatment in honor of Dr. Bill Torres in appreciation of his exceptional work and help he provides his patients. Yea Dr. Torres! Today, you helped save a wonderful golden too! When she came to us, she was also quite thin with ear infections. However, after we lovingly nursed her back to health she found a wonderful family that simply adores her. The first meeting was just between Silk and her new soon-to-be mom and dad. Once she charmed her way into their hearts it was time to meet the kids and the kitty cat. Of course, they adored her too. Well, the cat and Silk just ignored one another, but that was okay too. Now Silk will have a stay at home mom to hang out with, 2 children to play with, a dad to spoil her when we gets home and Sparkles the cat for company.
