My name is Silver, and I’m a 5.5-year-old golden girl with a gentle heart, an old soul, and a quiet, sweet nature.

I came to AGA after retiring from breeding and am now learning what it means to only be a pet. I spent much of my life outside, so living inside a home is still very new to me. I’m taking everything in at my own pace, and right now, I’m a pretty laid-back girl who loves to sleep.

I’m gentle, submissive, and a quiet girl. I haven’t even made a peep in my foster home. I’m also doing well with no accidents inside, although going potty outside can still make me a little anxious. I will need someone committed to helping me learn outside is fun, and I will never live out there again.

A fenced yard would be a great bonus for me, so I can safely build my confidence. I’m indifferent toward other dogs, but a calm, confident dog may help show me the ropes of what pet life is all about.

At about 81 pounds, I have some weight to lose and am not too interested in exercise just yet. My foster thinks that as I get healthier, I may discover that playing and exploring are actually pretty fun! I’m also still figuring out mealtime and currently prefer taking a few bites from my foster’s hand instead of eating from a bowl — but I do love treats.

I’m a beautiful work in progress, and I’m looking for a patient family who will give me the time, kindness, and encouragement I need to blossom into the beloved pet I was always meant to be. With gentle tail wags and a hopeful heart, Silver
