Sophie is an 8-year female golden retriever. She was an owner turn- in, so we know a little about her background. Sophie began to go blind in September of 2007 and now seems to only be able to distinguish very bright light. HOWEVER…that doesn’t slow her down. She only took about a week to learn the layout of her foster family’s family room and kitchen. She walks well leashed with one of her foster brothers and steps up and down curbs when given the command “Sophie STEP!” We think Sophie was a little sad intially but now she knows that that her family simply didn’t deserve her! Finally she has found a family who does! Sophie new owner previously adopted 4 other goldens from us and called requesting to help out a really special golden! When he met Sophie he knew she was his girl! Now she’ll be going to work with dad each day and be his constant companion. She also gets to go to the beach! Sophie has already met some of dad’s staff and loves all the attention. Still her story gets better because she’ll soon have a new mom, a little 4year old brother and a golden sibling to hang out with. Sophie’s heart is truly smiling and even though she can’t “see” it she knows everyone else is smiling too! Thanks dad!
