Hi, I’m Spikey, a big-hearted boy with a goofy streak, a protective spirit, and a soft side I save for the people I love. I’m about a year and a few months old (born February 2023), and tipping the scales at 93 pounds of love, loyalty, and a little bit of mischief. I came to AGA after my family, who truly cared about me, realized I needed more time and attention than they could give with a new baby in the house. I grew up with a toddler who thought I was a jungle gym (and yep, I was totally fine with it), but I get excited sometimes and jump around, so a home without small kids would be best for me. I also used to live with another dog who was my buddy from the beginning. I’ve got a gentle way with kids (when I’m not zooming around) and fellow pups, and I’m happiest when I’m part of the pack. That said… I am a bit of a trash panda. Socks, garbage, counters… it’s all fair game in my book if you leave it out. What can I say? I’m still learning!
Strangers? I’m working on that. I bark when new people come around, especially men I don’t know. I just need a few minutes (and some patience) to warm up. With time and trust, I come around. Every time. I love my walks (though I might give a bark or two at passersby), and I’m looking for a home with confident humans who will help me feel secure and keep showing me the ropes. Another dog buddy would be awesome, too. If you’re looking for a loyal, cuddly, big-boy pup with a splash of sass and a heart full of potential, I think we could be something special. Love, Spikey
