Sugar is a 6 year old purebred female golden retriever who was surrendered by her owner because they had to move into an apartment and couldn’t take Sugar with them because she was over the weight limit so they took their little doxie instead. Sugar had been with them since puppyhood and was a well-trained inside dog. She is a super golden but had a condition called canine epilepsy which is controlled with very affordable medication. Her foster reported that Sugar loved other dogs, was very gentle around children, toddlers and the elderly; she also liked to be next to you as much as possible. Her foster mom was determined to find Sugar the perfect home. Although a couple of applicants came along finding the perfect home posed a big challenge. Along her journey to find the perfect home, Sugar’s foster mom fell more and more in love with Sugar – then she realized that Sugar already had the perfect home – her own. Now Sugar has a new mom and two other dogs who Sugar gets along with wonderfully. Mom is also a vet tech so she is very well equipped to take on a dog with epilepsy. Sugar is going to be very happy with mom and her new golden brother and sister. We see lots of tennis balls chasing and relaxation spurts on the sofa with her new family. Of course, her favorite toy, a brown teddy bear, will be thrilled too.
