My name is Summer Sr, and I’m a 12-year-old golden girl weighing just 35 pounds. I may be a senior, and I may be a little underweight, but I still have plenty of love and happy days left to give.
For a long time, I wandered on my own, doing my best to survive. So many people saw me, but no one could catch me. Then one day, I wandered into a garage looking for food and shelter. Maybe, in my own way, I knew I needed someone to help me.
I was in desperate need of medical care, and some wonderful AGA volunteers made sure I got the help I needed. Not long after, I officially came into the AGA family — and I’ve been showing everyone what a sweet girl I am ever since.
I’m an absolute angel who loves everyone I meet! I’m happy and surprisingly perky for a senior, wonderful in the house, and I’ve had no accidents. I am good with other dogs, cats, and even small kids! One of my favorite things in the world is curling up in a soft, comfy dog bed!
Unfortunately, I’m heartworm positive, so I have some treatment ahead of me. AGA is committed to getting me healthy, but my treatment costs $1,000. Thankfully, an EXTREMELY generous angel named Luanne C. stepped in and donated in Category E — and she didn’t just help a little… she provided all the funds needed for my treatment! Thank you, Luanne!!
Because I’m a senior and underweight, the typical heartworm injection treatment would be too hard on my little body. Instead, I’ve already started a less intensive treatment plan that I’ll continue with my forever family. AGA will continue to provide guidance and support throughout my treatment.
After spending so long simply trying to survive, I’m ready for something much simpler: a soft bed, a safe home, some fun outings, and someone who will cherish me. With gentle tail wags and a grateful heart, Summer Sr
