I went from being a yard sale dog that nobody wanted to a dog that a lot of people wanted to help. It’s amazing how much things can change just when you think it couldn’t get any worse than being sold like a used car. A wonderful man from AGA came and got me and then I went to a doctor who said I had heartworms. Some very good friends of AGA named John and Jane Pendergast sent me $500 for the medicine I needed to make me well again. Some nice fosters opened their homes to me while I waited for my new mom and dad to come from a place called Charleston. They were told they could wait until my heartworms were gone but they said, “No-we will take care of Sunshine at our home because that’s where she will always live.” I have to rest for just a little longer but then I’ll be able to play like any other dog. The most important thing is that I get to be with my mom and dad a lot! Mom used to be the leader of a golden rescue here so I follow her around and she tells me stories about those days. Dad is going to take me to the beach when the weather is warmer and they promised I’ll never, never be a yard sale dog again! A big smile and lots of thanks, from Sunshine.
