WE WERE ON OUR WAY TO GET SUNSHINE OUT OF THE SHELTER IN ALABAMA WHEN WE GOT THE CALL FROM THE SHELTER. SUNSHINE DIED. THE SHELTER WAS EXTREMELY CROWDED (THEY HAD TAKEN IN OVER 1,000 DOGS THIS MONTH ALONE). THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT CAUSED HER DEATH BUT WE DO – STRESS AND A BROKEN HEART. WE ARE EXTEMELY UPSET OVER THIS. WE SENT OUT A CALL FOR TRANSPORT TO OVER 100 PEOPLE AND NO ONE RESPONDED IN TIME. WE HAVE BEEN BEGGING FOR FOSTER HOMES AND WE DON’T HAVE ENOUGH. OUR VETS ARE FULL WITH OUR DOGS. WE FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE IN ALABAMA TO GO FIRST THING THIS MORNING BUT IT WAS TOO LATE. WE NEED TO RESPOND FASTER AND WE NEED TO TELL PEOPLE TO CONTACT US AND NOT TAKE THEIR GOLDENS TO A SHELTER. AND IF YOU CAN FOSTER A DOG, PLEASE SIGN UP. WE HAVE LEARNED A VERY HARD LESSON FROM SUNSHINE – MOVE FASTER OR A DOG COULD DIE. BACKGROUND: This is Sunshine and she is sure to light up your life. But right now, she needs you. Sunshine is a 9 year old purebred female golden who has lived with the same family all of her life in Alabama. Her family has lost their home and was forced to lose Sunshine too. They could no longer afford to care for her or pay for the pet deposit at the apartment. They brought her to the local shelter. When we got the call, we didn’t have to even think about it. Sunshine will be on her way to Georgia and will arrive by week’s end (she will let Glory tag along with her) and she needs a new home and new best friend. You will know if it is you if your heart melts when you see that smile of hers.
