This is Teddy. We think is 8-10 years of age and is a purebred male golden. Teddy was brought into a shelter in North Georgia by a man who said it was his brother’s dog and his brother was sick and couldn’t take care of him anymore. The man claimed he didn’t know his name (yeah, right). We have named him Teddy because he is a big cuddlebug. If we showed you the way Teddy’s coat looked, you would be appalled. He had matts hanging in big lumps all over him. We have had to shave him and Teddy is so happy – we don’t think he has had a bath for a very long time. He is now prancing around like a new dog. We think the matts prevented mosquitoes biting him so he is heartworm negative and in good health. But Teddy does have a vestibular disease which affects his inner ear, he’s not in pain but he does tilt to one side. As time went on we began to see that Teddy was tilting towards his foster family and there was no way of persuading him in any other direction. His mind was made up and soon enough his fosters decided it too- Teddy would have to stay forever. Teddy is so happy. He now has newly adopted brother Rex, and little sister Lily to call his own, plus a future filled with all the golden things in life- love and family, not to mention toys and treats!
