Please don’t laugh when you see my picture! (The kind person who posts the photos cropped out my body so you wouldn’t laugh). You humans talked about having a “bad hair day”. I thought I was going to have a LOT of “bad hair days”. Wouldn’t you think someone would know enough NOT to shave all the hair off a Golden Retriever? Heavens I was not a poodle and I was certainly not a lion! I was trying to hide that ridiculous excuse for a tail between my legs. If it wasn’t so hot out I’d beg someone to put a sweater on me or throw a blanket over me for a few weeks. I was at the animal shelter for a few days and they tried their best to find my owners but no luck. The folks at AGA knew, though, that I was a Golden- thank goodness! They were going to help me find a new home with people that liked dogs with long hair and were willing to wait for it! I hoped they would also liked to have dog toys around, a nice dog bed and plenty of treats. Everyone was guessing I was about 3 years old so you know I liked to play and take walks and have fun like all young boys do. At adoption day a great young couple saw past the bad hair to see what a great boy I was. They have both been around goldens their whole life and teach at a nearby school that allows dogs like me to visit! We have a park close to the house that’s perfect for long walks so I can get plenty of exercise. Thanks AGA for finding my forever home!
